Health care, education, and the cost of living — in that order, because that's the order people here tell me about them.
I'm a nurse practitioner running to represent Mississippi, New Madrid and the northern part of Pemiscot County. When I ask folks in this district what's making life hard, health care is the number one answer. The second is education. Underneath both of them is the plain cost of living.
I've written out what I'd actually do on each one. Not slogans — the specific things a member of the Missouri House can vote for, propose, and be a nuisance about on your behalf. There's a fourth page too, on the constitutional amendment that's on your ballot in November, because you're entitled to know how I'd vote on it before you vote on me.

I'm a nurse practitioner, and this is what I know best. Providers are leaving Missouri, clinics are closing, mothers are an hour from a delivery room, and a lot of families have no way to get to an appointment even when one exists. Two different problems — access and transportation — and both need fixing.

Our schools need to be fully funded, from general revenue, and not out of whatever is left after the games are counted. I'm a former school teacher. A child who comes to school hungry isn't going to learn to read no matter how good the teacher is.

Food, gas, rent, insurance, the light bill, and then the prescription if there's anything left. I can't promise you cheaper gasoline. I can vote for the food, health and school programs that put money back in a household budget, and against tax schemes that shift the cost onto what you buy.
